Team Rituals are an important for team moral that help provide a shared identity and culture. What’s one of your favorites?
Sunshine: Do you and your team have any rituals?
Crystal: Welcome to The Love of Business. I’m Crystal.
Sunshine: And I’m Sunshine. Let’s get to it.
Rituals?
Crystal: Yes.
Sunshine: Practices? Things you do before a big meeting or at the end of a big meeting? Or when somebody makes a sale on the team? Like these little things?
Crystal: Those are great examples of that. But let’s talk about why they’re so important first. So, rituals for your team creates a shared identity. It increases moral and creates a supportive culture among your team, so everyone’s aligned.
Sunshine: That sounds delicious, doesn’t it? When everyone is aligned, everybody wins.
Crystal: And everyone is engaged, which is fantastic.
Sunshine: Well then it creates some kind of synergy, right?
Crystal: So, let’s talk about some examples of team rituals. And there are no right or wrong for your team rituals. Some examples could be the employee of the month get a trophy. Or it could be a secret handshake, a secret language, only that the team knows. So, it could be a retreat that everyone goes on, on an annual. So, what we want you to do is look at your team and look at the culture of your team and develop two or three, you don’t need a ton of team rituals, and execute them, and consistently use them with your team to create greater engagement.
Sunshine: Now that you know how to create rituals, why don’t you share a few of them with us in the comments. And as always, thanks for watching.
