Sunshine: What type of salesperson are you?
Crystal: Welcome to The Love of Business. I’m Crystal,
Sunshine: And I’m sunshine. Let’s get to it.
What kind of salesperson are you?
Crystal: Yes.
Sunshine: What are you getting at?
Crystal: So, there’s four different types of salespeople.
Sunshine: Okay.
Crystal: Today we’re going to focus on the order taker. And in future videos, we’ll capture the other three.
Sunshine: All right. So, if we are looking at order taker, are you talking like someone that just takes an order? Like I’m calling in to get the latest new, get rid of those eye bag cream?
Crystal: That’s a great example. So, an order taker, salesperson waits for someone to ask to buy something.
Sunshine: All right. Well, if you’re a business that doesn’t have a lot of customers, this could be a horrible sales technique for you.
Crystal: That’s correct. Because you’re just sitting there by the phone waiting for it to ring, or for someone to walk into your office, for example.
Sunshine: That’s not going to work for a business that doesn’t have clients beating down their door.
Crystal: That’s right.
Sunshine: So, I mean, I guess we’re just explaining what an order taker is. And I think I got it. It’s like when you get hungry, and you go to a fast food restaurant, you walk up to the counter, you place your order, and they take your order, or just a waitress takes your order.
Crystal: Exactly.
Sunshine: All right. Well, what’s your number one takeaway from today’s video? Leave us a comment and thanks for watching.
