Sunshine: Are you cobbler with no shoes?
Crystal: Welcome to The Love of Business. I’m Crystal.
Sunshine: And I’m Sunshine. Let’s get to it.
Crystal: So, what does that say mean, a cobbler without any shoes?
Sunshine: Well, I guess if you were a cobbler and you didn’t have any shoes, but you were a shoe maker, that would seem kind of silly, right?
Crystal: Yes, it would. Yes, it would.
Sunshine: Like, why aren’t you wearing a pair of your own shoes?
Crystal: So, what does congruency mean, do you know?
Sunshine: So, to be congruent means that you do the same things in your life as you do in your work. Like the same principles transfer over. So, if you’re on time for business, you probably better be on time for your life.
Crystal: Yup. And that’s exactly right. And more simply, you practice what you preach.
Sunshine: Yeah.
Crystal: So, the rules apply to the and me. Because if you’re not congruent, will your team respect you?
Sunshine: I’ve been on the other side of that coin. It ain’t looking good for them.
Crystal: No, it’s not. And then morale will go down, productivity will go down, and profitability will go down.
Sunshine: You don’t want that.
