Sunshine: Are you stuck as a technician in your own business?
Crystal: Welcome to The Love of Business. I’m Crystal.
Sunshine: And I’m Sunshine. Let’s get to it.
Technician, technician, technician in your own business?
Crystal: Yup.
Sunshine: So, the business owner is doing most of the deliverables then? I mean, is that what you mean by technician in your own business?
Crystal: Yes. They are doing most of the deliverables. But they are also doing everything else, the operations, the bookkeeping, the IT, sweeping the floor.
Sunshine: Oh my God, that’s a lot of work.
Crystal: It is a lot of work. It is a vicious cycle.
Sunshine: So, you are going to teach us how to switch that hat?
Crystal: Yup, I’m going to do that right now. See business owners have this entrepreneur myth when they start their business. They are going to make tons of money, they are going to have tons of free time, and all this freedom. Time and money freedom. But what happens and what they learn is that it is the opposite of that. It becomes a vicious cycle, and they are in a hamster wheel, and they can’t get off doing everything and being the sole technician. Now, a great book to help you get out of that vicious cycle is called The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber. Study it and apply it.
Sunshine: What’s your number one takeaway from today’s video? Leave us a comment and thanks for watching.
